I took on a different challenge for this Third Model design, asking the question: what can we do with a smaller set that has 10 times fewer pieces than my Tunnel Boring Machine made from LEGO® Technic(TM) elements?
In the case of LEGO®'s Roadwork Crew set 42060 the answer is:
You can still build something really interesting.
I was inspired by the tracks and the new worm gear LEGO® introduced into this set. Using those two elements I eventually settled on the idea of designing and building a Baggage Belt Loader. I have made a YouTube video showing all of the features and design of this Third Model. Enjoy!
In addition to the video, I used Brick Link's Studio 2.0 for the first time to digitise my design. I was really impressed with the software and I was able to quickly input my design into Studio 2.0, render photo-realistic photos and videos, and make a step-by-step instruction manual which you can download below:
This Third Model exercise was a great opportunity to test the limits of the Third Model premise and hopefully inspire you to explore the possibilities of your small sets.
